Introduction to Philosophy
Part 1 of our practical philosophy course commences in term 1, beginning Tuesday 7 February 2012 at 6:30 pm . We invite you to attend, if you have not done so already, for stimulating conversation and enquiry with like-minded souls. If you wish to recommend this to a friend, please do so. Please register your interest here and we will notify you closer to the day.
The part 1 course is a comprehensive outline of how to proceed in self-discovery. It stands by itself, but also establishes a groundwork for further enquiry.
Topics presented include:
- Philosophy. What is it in practice?
- Who am I really? Just body, mind, heart?
- Wisdom and reason. Finding them within.
- Inner stillness. Releasing your potential.
- Awareness. Observing different levels.
- Justice, truth and beauty. Plato’s view.
- The present moment. Getting there.
- Negative thinking. How to be free of it.
