Saturday Philosophers

Saturday 3 March, 10:00 am – open to all school members and members of the public.

Epi who? Epictetus part 2!! This lecture will briefly recap some of the previous lecture and look at further ‘headlines’ from Epictetus and their practical application. Epictetus was a practical philosopher and founded a school which had many famous students, including Marcus Aurelius. He was strongly influenced by the philosophies of Socrates and Plato.

Philosophy in Focus

Saturday 31 March, 10:00am – open to all members of the school, their friends and family, Led by James Donald.

Philosophy in Focus is an opportunity to experience ‘flow’ in action. We’ll do this through a series of simple, gentle activities designed to settle the mind and refine the attention. Examples include drawing, movement and sounding and listening. Come and see for yourself the effect of these simple yet liberating exercises. There will be about an hour for practice and about 30 minutes for reflection and discussion.
